Craig P. Wins £1,000

Craig P. from Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales, is this week’s winner of our £1,000 Weekly Cash Draw. We caught up with Craig to find out how it feels to win.

How did it feel to find out you'd won £1,000 in cash?

When it sunk in that I had actually won, I felt amazing. I was overwhelmed. When I read the email, I thought, "this is a wind up." I wanted to do a little dance. I felt on top of the world. The most I have ever won was £97 and that was over 20 years ago.

What tempted you to enter the Omaze Million Pound House Draw?

I saw the TV advert and for some reason it really grabbed my attention and I thought, “wow, what a prize!” I found your website and read all the details, I was about to enter the competition, then as I was about to press the button, I hesitated and thought, people like me don't win. I closed the website without entering and turned the computer off. A week or so passed and the competition had been on my mind and I am not sure if I saw the TV advert but something prompted me to visit your website again. I looked at all the details and thought to myself that this has to be worth a gamble, so I entered.

What would you do if you won the house?

If I won the house, I would love to live in it for a while, just to see how it feels. Then I could decide If I can't find employment here, then maybe I will relocate.

Had you heard about Teenage Cancer Trust before you entered?

I am not sure if I had heard of the Teenage Cancer Trust before, it sounded familiar, there are so many worthwhile charities all fighting for funds to keep up their amazing work.I researched Teenage Cancer Trust and it certainly put a lump in my throat.

So, how are you going to spend the £1,000?

I was made redundant during the Covid lockdown in April and it's surprising how fast time has gone and Christmas is fast approaching. I was worried about being able to get my children some of the Christmas presents that they have asked for. I will use this money to try to make Christmas special for my children.
